The Heritage Pool & Racquet Club offers a rewarding tennis program for players of all ages and all playing levels. We offer competitive and social tennis, including a range of junior tennis programs. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or experienced tennis player, Heritage has a spot on the court for you.

Heritage's Junior Tennis Clinics are designed especially for boys and girls ages 4-16. Our goal is to enhance the juniors' tennis skills and love for the game in a spirited and positive learning environment.

The Boys and Girls Tennis Teams play in the Sudbury Valley Junior Tennis League at the A & B team levels. Please attend Sign Up Day to enroll your child onto the A or B team.  



The B team typically consists of kids between the ages of 10 and 16 however younger members do break in from time to time. B team is open to any Heritage junior who is able to maintain a reasonable rally as well as consistently get their serve in. We encourage you to bring your kids down to the courts for an evaluation by one of our tennis Staff. Try outs are conducted during the THE WEEKLY Pre-Season SCHEDULEAll kids on the team are required to attend the morning clinics. 


The Club's A-Team plays in the Sudbury Valley Junior Tennis League. A-Team is for the top juniors at the club. Practices are comprised of intense drilling and conditioning as well as match play strategy. Anyone who has previously played on the A-Team is invited back to join the team. New players who would like to try out for the team can do so by attending the Preseason Practices. THE WEEKLY Pre-Season SCHEDULE Note that the Pre-season schedule runs from Sign Up Day until the public schools are out for the summer. Once school is out please see the THE WEEKLY SUMMMER SCHEDULE  for the practice schedule.

Women's Clinics

Women's clinics are available for all levels of play. These clinics are designed to help players with their stroke development and doubles strategy. These clinics are a great way to further your doubles development. Please feel free to drop in and give it a try

Beginning/Intermediate Tuesday 9:00 - 10:30AM 
Intermediate/Advanced Thursday 9:00 - 10:30AM 

There are many opportunities to play during the week. In addition to these traditional drill and match play clinics, there are allotted group drop-in times. Players from the Intermediate/Advanced clinic will have two courts reserved from 10:30–11:30 AM on Tuesday mornings and the Beginner/Intermediate players will have the courts from 10:30-11:30 AM on Thursday.


Open Mixed Adult Clinics

Come one and come all! The adult evening clinic programs are designed for all levels of play. These clinics aim to help players with their stroke development as well as their doubles strategy. Please feel free to drop in and give one or all a try.

Intermediate/Advanced Monday 6:30 - 8:00PM 
Beginning/Intermediate Wednesday 6:30 - 8:00PM

Friday Night Doubles Drop-In Clinics

The mixed doubles clinics will continue this summer. The clinic is a “drop-in” on Fridays from 6:30 PM–8:00 PM. The first forty-five minutes of the session is geared toward a specific doubles strategy. During the last half of the night, players are coached during doubles play.


Adult Teams

The Suburban tennis league is one of the oldest leagues in Massachusetts. The season begins the first week in May and runs for 7 weeks.

League matches are Tuesday evenings for the B team and Thursday evenings for the C team. Warm-ups begin at 5:30, play begins at 6:00pm.

Voluntary B and C team practices are held on Sundays. Below is a link to the league website:

Private Tennis Instruction

Once the tennis season begins, private and semi-private lessons are available to Heritage players of all ages and abilities. Private lessons are an excellent way to focus on any specific area in your game, and are very helpful in eliminating technical problems. Racquet Stringing

Join us in watching our Heritage Tennis staff battle it out in a fun evening of food and tennis. The staff will provide hamburgers and hotdogs and you are encouraged to bring a side dish to share. The evening will feature an excellent tennis exhibition match with members of the tennis staff. 

Boston Pro Tennis League :  

If you haven't been you've been missing out on a very special evening. Heritage hosts the Boston Pro Tennis League which features former ATP players in singles and doubles matches.

Bring a side dish to share while the Heritage staff grills up burgers and dogs and enjoy high caliber tennis up close. See BPTL post on Facebook


Enjoy some tea of coffee at Heritage while we watch the Wimbledon finals on the big screen. Bring a bite to share, sit back and relax. 


Parent Child Tournament:  
Division I: Twelve and Under from 9:30AM until 11:30AM. 

Division II: Thirteen and Over from 12:30PM until 3:00PM.

Women’s Member/Member Tournament:

Evening: Thursday, July 20: Matches begin at 6:00PM. 

Morning: Thursday, Aug 3: Matches begin at 9:00AM.

Men’s Member/Member Tournament : 

Thursday, June 29th: Matches begin at 6:00PM. 

Adult Mixer Night:

Tennis Rules

General Tennis Rules

Members and guests shall conduct themselves in the spirit of good sportsmanship at all times and respect the rights of others using the tennis facilities.

Members must sign guests into the sign up book and will be billed at the close of the season

Flat-soled tennis shoes are required at all times. Bare feet, “flip-flops” and sandals are prohibited. Black-soled athletic shoes are also prohibited.

Tennis courts shall be used for no other purpose other than tennis.

The Ball machine can only be used under adult or Heritage staff member supervision.

Tennis clinics, private instruction, tournaments, league play, and special programs have priority use of the courts.

Courts are available for use by members on a first come first serve basis. 

Ball tubes and balls must be returned to the storage hut after you are done.

When other members are waiting for a court limit singles play to 60 minutes and doubles play to 90 minutes.

Court Courtesies

Please do your part to clean up after yourself

Do not pass through a court when in use, unless invited to do so.

Return errant balls promptly, but not while a point is in progress.

Do not distract other players with loud talk or noises.

Close gates when entering and leaving courts.

Please limit use of electronic communication devices.
